Avant, OK - Motorcyclist Dies in Collision on OK-11

Avant, OK (December 10, 2024) - A two-vehicle crash outside of Avant on Friday, November 6, ended in the death of a motorcyclist. The fatal collision took place on OK-11 late that evening somewhere in Osage County. Local reports revealed that the victim, 19-year-old Andrew Shay Havens, was headed east on a motorcycle at the time of the crash. 

At the same time, 21-year-old Steven Gage-Lane Hughes was driving a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck traveling westbound on the highway. Both vehicles came into contact near a curve on the road and collided. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Havens suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
