Bartlesville, OK (September 15, 2024) - On Friday, September 13, a motorcyclist died after a traffic accident in the area of Bartlesville. The fatal collision took place at the corner of Redbud Lane and Washington Boulevard that afternoon around 2:30 p.m. A motorcycle and a semi-truck were reportedly involved in the collision.
It was later reported that both vehicles were headed southbound on US Route 75 at the time of the impact. The motorcycle collided with the back of the semi’s trailer. Emergency crews were dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The rider was left with fatal injuries and later pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased party has not yet been provided. No further updates on the deadly crash are currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
Most drivers are anxious when sharing the road with a large commercial truck. That’s because these vehicles can cause complete devastation in the event of a crash. In the United States, there are more than 500,000 big truck accidents every year. Over 5,000 people are killed in these accidents, and many more are seriously hurt. In Oklahoma, 654 people died in big truck crashes in 2020, up from 640 the previous year, with many of these accidents involving semi-trucks. A fully loaded semi can weigh upwards of 70,000 pounds, more than enough to leave a victim with life-changing injuries, particularly if they are in a smaller car or motorcycle.
