Commerce, OK - Young Boy Killed in Pedestrian Crash on S 490 Rd

Commerce, OK (April 23, 2025) - On Tuesday, April 22, a young boy was killed after being hit by a utility terrain vehicle outside of Commerce. The deadly crash took place in Ottawa County on S. 490 Road late that night at around 8 p.m. It was reported that a 67-year-old man was driving the 2018 Can-Am Defender when he hit a nine-year-old boy. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. The injured party was flown to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. Three other people were reportedly on the UTV during the crash, but none were injured.

The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
