Henryetta, OK - Two Killed After Car Hits Tree on US-62

Henryetta, OK (February 27, 2025) - Two people were killed after a single-vehicle collision outside of Henryetta on Thursday, February 27. The deadly collision took place early that morning on US-62 in Okmulgee County. Local reports revealed that 24-year-old Austin Peavler of Weleetka was driving a car when he crashed just past midnight. 

For unknown reasons, the car departed from the roadway before re-entering, leaving the road again, and hitting a tree. Peavler was reportedly pinned inside the vehicle, and his passenger, 32-year-old Dakota Baldwin, was ejected from the car. Emergency crews were dispatched to provide the necessary aid. Despite life-saving support, both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The area was temporarily closed while officials were present. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
