Lawton, OK (March 7, 2025) - On Thursday, March 6, a woman was killed after a car accident in the Lawton area. The fatal crash took place near the OK-7 and OK-65 interchange early that morning at around 10 a.m. in Comanche County. Local reports revealed that a Ford F-150 and a Kenworth T-300 commercial truck collided at the scene.
It was later revealed that 46-year-old Krista L McCray of Duncan was driving the Ford when the crash occurred. The circumstances leading to the incident have not yet been determined. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving support, McCray sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the collision. The area was closed for several hours as local authorities worked the scene. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
Oklahoma is primely located in the middle of the United States, so it is an important part of the national transportation system. There are big semi-trucks all over the roads. A lot of large commercial trucks carry goods and other things across the state's roads. Every year in the United States, there are more than 500,000 reports of big truck accidents, and these collisions kill over 5,000 people and leave many more with serious injuries. In Oklahoma, 654 people died in major truck crashes in 2020, up from 640 the previous year. Many of these accidents involved semi-trucks. A lot more people were hurt in truck crashes in 2020 than in 2019—a total of 1,963 people were hurt.
