Oklahoma City, OK (September 12, 2024) - A two-vehicle collision in the Oklahoma City area on Wednesday, September 11, resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. The fatal crash was reported at the corner of SW 59th Street and S. Walker Avenue late that night around 6 p.m. Local reports revealed that a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle collided at the scene.
It was later revealed that the driver of the SUV was pulling out of a nearby parking lot when they hit the motorcyclist who had just entered the intersection with a green light. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene. Despite life-saving measures, the injured rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. No one else was harmed in the accident. The deceased party was identified as a man in his 30s. No further information on the fatal crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
A motorcycle accident can easily result in serious injuries, and riders have been known to get major injuries or even injuries that change their lives. Motorcyclists make up too many of the deaths on American roads. This is because the rider has limited protection from the full force of the crash. Studies show that almost 80 percent of motorcycle accidents result in death or serious injury. Motorcyclists are almost 27 times more likely to be killed and four times more likely to be hurt in an accident than someone within the protected enclosure of a car. If someone close to you loses their life in a motorcycle crash, you should file a strong wrongful death claim to seek justice. A competent Oklahoma City motorcycle accident lawyer will be ready to fight for the justice you and your family deserve. Contact the offices of Calvert Law Firm today at 405-848-5000.
