High-Speed Collisions in Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK - Crash with Injuries at NE 21st St & MLK AveSpeeding is a prevalent habit on Oklahoma roads. You can be hurt by a speeding driver and suffer much more serious injuries for good reason. The force of impact will be much stronger, and it is common for vehicle safety features to not function as intended in a high-speed collision. In Oklahoma, 147 people died in accidents that were caused by drivers who were going too fast. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that 143 people died in crashes across the state the year before due to speeding drivers, citing an increasing and disturbing trend.

And this isn't an issue just in Oklahoma, but rather all over the country. More than 10,000 people are killed every year by drivers who exceed the speed limit or drive too fast for roadway conditions. This makes up about one-third of all road deaths each year. Even worse, over the past 20 years, speeding has been linked to nearly one-third of national roadway fatalities. Oklahoma City had 203 car crashes in a recent year that were directly caused by speeding motorists.
