Walking is a great way to get around, but it leaves you exposed to the dangers of the road. When you share the road with a motor vehicle, you have a greater chance of getting seriously hurt. About one in five deaths in the past year involved pedestrians. In Oklahoma, 104 pedestrians were killed in car accidents in 2021, and another 149 were severely hurt, showing just how dangerous it can be to walk along the state's roads. A lot of accidents in Oklahoma involve pedestrians, and most of them take place outside of intersections. Oklahoma has a pedestrian fatality rate of nearly 13 percent, lower than the national rate of 17 percent. However, just one death is too many, and you need to be ready to take action to pursue justice after a deadly accident.
