Pittsburg, OK - Fatal Pedestrian Accident at US-69 & Shady Grove Rd

Pittsburg, OK (March 8, 2025) - On Thursday, March 6, a pedestrian was killed after a traffic accident in Pittsburg. Early that morning at around 10:27 a.m., the crash was reported on US-69 near Shady Grove Road. The victim was reportedly standing on the highway next to a broken down vehicle at the time of the impact. 

It was then that a woman driving a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas traveling southbound hit the 25-year-old man. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving aid from responding medical personnel, the victim, later identified as Brandon Antonio Venitez-Sanchez, sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene. A four-year-old girl was also in the car. Neither the girl or the woman were hurt in the impact. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
