Ponca City, OK - Injuries & Fatal Stop Sign Crash at US-77 at Coleman Rd

Ponca City, OK (March 30, 2025) - On Friday, March 28, a driver was killed and two others injured in a car accident outside of Ponca City. Late that night at around 11:45 p.m., two vehicles reportedly collided at the corner of US-77 and Coleman Road. It was later revealed that Shannon Laird was headed eastbound in a 2009 Pontiac on Coleman Road when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign. 

The Pontiac entered the intersection and into the path of a southbound 2023 Hyundai on US-77. The Hyundai hit the driver's side of the Pontiac before both vehicles entered the center median. Emergency crews were present at the scene, and Laird suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead by attending medical personnel. Two occupants of the Hyundai were transported by ambulance to Integris Health for the treatment of sustained injuries. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present. No further updates on the incident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by local law enforcement personnel.
