Prague, OK (November 18, 2024) - Two people were killed after a head-on crash in the Prague area on Saturday, November 16. The deadly accident took place on US-62 near Airport Road at around 5 p.m. Local reports revealed that 48-year-old Norman Pyatt was traveling on the highway when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on with an oncoming motor vehicle.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Pyatt sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 38-year-old Lacey Collins, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked the scene. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
When two vehicles crash head-on, the results are often catastrophic. Statistics show that less than two percent of reported crashes each year are head-on crashes, but they are responsible for almost 10 percent of all road deaths across the country. Most of the time, these crashes happen when drivers veer into oncoming traffic, sometimes because they are distracted. The most recent year saw 3,631 people killed in head-on collisions, and thousands more were seriously hurt. If someone close to you is killed by a reckless driver, you need to be ready to take legal action by pursuing a wrongful death claim with the help of a competent legal team.
