Sayre, OK - Two Killed in Rollover at OK-6 & N 1770 Rd

Sayre, OK (April 11, 2025) - On Thursday, April 10, two people were killed following a vehicle crash in the Sayre area. The deadly crash took place near the intersection of OK-6 and N. 1770 Road that afternoon at around 12:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that 77-year-old William Pierce was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger on the highway at the time of the accident. 

The truck was headed westbound when Pierce attempted to pass a semi-truck as an eastbound vehicle came over the hill. Pierce attempted to return to the westbound lane but lost control. The truck left the road and rolled. The passenger, 73-year-old Blenda Lea Pierce, was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The passenger was transported by Air Evac to Great Plains Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. No further information on the fatal accident is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
