Shawnee, OK (January 13, 2024) - On Sunday, January 12, a passenger was killed and the driver injured after a car accident in the Shawnee area. The deadly collision took place on OK-3E late that night, around 8 p.m. Local reports indicated that two vehicles collided at the scene.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide medical aid. At this time, the circumstances leading to the incident have not been determined. It was later revealed that 19-year-old Darren Anderson of Shawnee was driving a car traveling on the highway when he collided with another vehicle operated by 47-year-old Larry Clemens of Moore. Both Anderson and Clemens were injured in the crash, and Clemens was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A passenger in Anderson’s car, 23-year-old Jacob Anderson, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. No further information on the crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
