Shawnee, OK (March 22, 2025) - Two people died and several others were injured after a multi-vehicle collision in the Shawnee area on Friday, March 21. The deadly collision took place on Interstate 40 near Highway 177 at mile marker 182 in Pottawatomie County. At least four vehicles collided at the scene just before 8 p.m. that evening.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render aid to the involved parties. Two people involved suffered fatal injuries and were later pronounced dead. Others were hurt and airlifted to a local hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The highway was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
