Tulsa, OK (February 5, 2025) - There were multiple injuries after a car accident in the Tulsa area on Monday, February 3. The incident took place on N. Peoria Avenue E. 78th Street N. It was reported that the driver of a pickup experienced a medical episode, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway.
The pickup struck a tractor-trailer and a flag man on the construction crew. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene. Responding medical personnel applied a tourniquet to the injured worker’s leg to relieve potentially life-threatening injuries. He was later transported to a local hospital for additional treatment. The driver and passenger of the pickup were also injured and hospitalized for support. The north and southbound lanes on Peoria Avenue were temporarily closed as local officials worked to clear the scene. No further information on the incident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Pedestrians are among the most at-risk individuals on the road, and these travelers make up a large number of road deaths each year. They face a higher risk of severe injury or death in traffic accidents. About one out of every six deaths in the past year involved a pedestrian, according to the newest accident data. In 2021, about 13 percent of road deaths in Oklahoma were pedestrians, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If you or someone you care about is wrongfully hurt in a pedestrian accident, be prepared to work with a diligent and compassionate lawyer to file a strong personal injury claim. This is often the only way to protect your right to a full recovery when trying to seek compensation from the at-fault driver and their insurance provider.
