Welch, OK (April 22, 2025) - On Monday, April 21, a man was killed after a crash involving a utility task vehicle in the Welch area. The deadly crash took place in Craig County near the intersection of E. 110 Road and 4460 Road at around 3:40 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 63-year-old man was riding a UTV when he was involved in a crash with a pickup truck.
The circumstances leading to the fatal accident have not yet been determined. The victim, later identified as Dang Yang, was traveling E. 110 Road at the time of the impact. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render aid. Despite life-saving measures from attending medical personnel, Yang sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the pickup was injured as a result of the collision. No further information on the fatal accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
It is fun for a lot of people in Oklahoma to ride a UTV for fun and relaxation. It is too bad that these vehicles can go very fast and do not offer much safety for the person riding them. Young adults and children are most likely to die in UTV crashes. There are more than 1,500 deaths and more than 100,000 injuries every year that are bad enough that they need medical care. Moreover, too often, deadly UTV accidents happen because the driver is drunk or not wearing a helmet.
